A Modern Home by the Sea

This was already the fourth project I had the pleasure of completing with these wonderful clients, as their Kannustalohome in Lohja was replaced by a stunning, architect-designed modern residence in Kirkkonummi. The previous owners were moving abroad and wished to sell the house together with some of the furnishings, so we incorporated the sofas, a few light fixtures, and the TV unit they had purchased into the new interior.

The most significant change was the renovation of the white kitchen so that it would better suit the architecture of the home. From the original kitchen, we retained the oak cabinets on one side of the island as well as the wine cabinet. Oak now also appears in the upper cabinets along the back wall, where it pairs beautifully with the brushed brass tap and cabinet handles.

The clients have a great love for seascape paintings, and it was important to find artworks large enough for the spacious walls. The pieces work beautifully with the maritime views visible through the windows, creating a harmonious connection between the interior and the surrounding landscape.
