Beautiful Holiday Home in Parainen
I joined the building project of this beautiful Honka log home at an early stage of the planning process, which also allowed me to influence the floor plan. We made several important improvements to the house manufacturer’s standard layout, changes that my clients have been very pleased with.
One of the biggest decisions concerned how to treat the log walls. Personally, I’m not particularly fond of white-lacquered pine, and since the clients wished for a light and fresh colour palette, I suggested painting the logs in a softly muted off-white. The stunning grey decorative stone wall behind the fireplace creates contrast and pairs beautifully with the black oak kitchen. A forest-green sofa and elegant patterned wool rugs add warmth and softness, while also echoing the landscape visible through the windows.
