A Spring Refresh on Kesäkatu

The former Yleisradio office building in Töölö was transformed into luxurious apartments, and I had the pleasure of designing one of them as my clients’ “forever home.” The residents brought only a few rugs and pieces of furniture from their previous home; almost everything else was specially selected and designed for this apartment.

Natural oak was chosen as the wood tone, both to match the existing parquet and because it was a favourite of the residents. A few large walls were wallpapered to add warmth and a sense of coziness. The lighting was enhanced with track systems, as well as delicate pendant and floor lamps. The dull mirrored sliding-door wardrobe in the hallway was replaced with a slimmer cabinet and a charming bench niche with a mirror.
